“All of us, at some time or other, need help. Whether we're giving or receiving help, each one of us has something valuable to bring to this world.” - Fred (Mister Rogers) Rogers
Shawn Patrick earned his master’s degree from Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, Michigan. His lived experience with trauma and substance use disorder (SUD) has dedicated him to providing a trauma-informed, person-centered, and holistic approach to therapy for those that struggle with, and in recovery from substance abuse issues. Additionally, as part of the LBGTQIA+ community, he is sensitive to the adverse circumstances that can cause mental and emotional discomfort and is dedicated to providing gender and sexuality-affirming care, ensuring that every individual feels safe and seen.
Shawn Patrick provides individual and group therapy to help manage and resolve challenges with SUD and co-occurring disorders, anxiety, depression, bipolar, personality disorders and other mental health concerns that cause significant disruption to daily life. His desire is to empower folks to re-write their narrative in a way that puts them first as a person, respects their autonomy, and encourages a path of harm reduction to bring about change as it is seen through the eyes of the client or group participants.
Change can be frightening and sometimes a very lonely path to travel. Shawn Patrick understands that folks often need guidance and encouragement in choosing and maintaining the path that will lead them to realizing their full potential.
